My mother was using my account earlier and used AOL.
Later that day, after she'd shut down, I went to log on
to my account and under my name was a message that I
(under her screen name) have 31 unread messages. Remember
that the messages are directed to my mother's e-mail
address.
How do I get rid of this message?
Thanks - Centaura Eblan
PS Replies and e-mails very much appreciated.

Hi,

Add Control Userpasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Use TweakUI/Logon/Unread Mail and Repair/Unread Mail Count
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

To remove an account or to change the count manually Got to:
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.
