I have a message in my OUTBOX that won't let me send out.
THIS IS WHAT IS DISPLAYED IN THE MESSAGE
Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.

This is a brand new notebook not even a month old....

I need help, I am not to well versed on computers... and getting very
stressed out...

Tulla1946. I am having the same problem. Did you ever find out how to
correct the problem? All my sent e-mails from that one are backed up.
Please let me know by responding to (e-mail address removed)

Thanks,

Jon

It's highly recommended that you don't publish your email address
in a newsgroup post unless you want lots of spam.

Try removing your mail account and close and reopen WinMail. Then see if
you can delete the message. Then set up your account again.

Called Microsoft regarding this problem. After talking to a very rude person
in India who insisted I pay $59 to get it fixed even though it's a Windows
Vista problem on a two week old computer, I contacted Dell.
Another person in India insisted on trying everything known to not solve the
problem. He finally connected me to a Dell service tech in Canada. I told her
about the fix posted here. She was most helpful and fixed the problem using
the fix from this site.
Microsoft makes it impossible to contact them without having to give your
credit card number. They have no place just to report a problem with their
product.
All I can do now is hope it doesn't repeat.

You don't understand how the system works then. You will be charged for
support if it's not within the free support period. If it is after the free
support period and you pay the fee with your credit card and the problem is
determined to be a bug the agent will refund your fee. Of course if it is
user error you will need to pay.

First of all, I have no clue WHY win mail is even here w/Vista, too many
problems.
I cannot use 'users', alot of my mail is coming in as spam, when I log on,
it says that I have over 500 messages, cannot sub to 2 list servs that I
need, no mail coming in on my user account, NOT default, spam is regulating
way toooo many mail msgs from ppl I know.
I hate win mail.

This computer is only a week old and it started from day 1, having to
contact Dell, got a person who I could not understand, at least 1.5 hours on
the phone, way too much work for this kind of money. I would switch back to
XP if I could get a computer with that on it. I choose not to use Yahoo,
G/Mail, MSN or any other, too much work navigating around that, and O/E was
great. NOW, I am thinking of using OUTLOOK, getting a disc to download,
maybe.

I am getting mail delivered from my user account to my default AGAIN, and
nothing delivered to my 2nd user account, or identity as we called it w/O/E.
I am totally frustrated w/the lack of solutions here, w/the mail issues.

Someone posted that if you have problems go to McAfee, did that, now that
says my subscription is not up to date, it is, I run the McAfee, comes
w/Vista and comcast, who is my ISP provider.

For Microsoft or Dell, or whoever put this out here w/these many issues, is
just plain piracy in ripping people off. I paid alot of money for this
computer and am disgusted w/the lack of solutions.

Just my gripe for the day. I have spent sooo much time on this win mail
issue, that productivity in other areas has been compromised. There are no
solutions that are immediate, and repeated concerns from many people.

Does anyone even have a clue if and when all these will or can be resolved?

I am disappointed w/Dell, and its support, Microsoft, is just not up to its
name in providing any kind of satisfactory service.

In the Junk Mail folder right click one that is not junk, select Junk E-mail
and Add to Safe Senders list.

Are the accounts aliases for the same mailbox on the server?

Uninstall McAfee. It doesn't get along with WinMail.

Under Tools Junk Mail Options, select a higher level of protection.
or for each mail, right click on header and select the JUNK mail option that fits, wither user or domain.

and go to mcafee web site and download the uninstaller.
then download either avast or avg.
uninstall mcafee and install either avast or avg.
you might have to remove and recreate your email accounts because of the damage mcafee has done.

Yes, Windows Mail is awful & I use thunderbird as a free alternative.
No problems at all in Thunderbird & there are many other free
alternatives you can use.

Try deleting the mesage in question. I had the same problem with a message I
sent to myself. After weeks of strugling with this issue came to find out I
had ommited the 3 numbers in my address. It just takes the least of a mistake
to cause one to pull his or her own hair.

This is often due to interference from an antivirus program. What if any
antivirus programs, antispyware programs, firewall programs, and other
security programs do you have? Many new computers come with free
trials of one or more of these already installed.

Also, do you have the Google Toolbar program?

If you have any program with SMS in its name, tell us its full name.

For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with Windows
Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.

If this hotfix does not delete the oldest message in your Outbox, it
should at least make it possible for you to do this.
