Hi, CarolnWbg;
I've done some experimenting since my last post, and the only way I could
get my copy of Outlook to drop a message into the Outbox without popping up a
warning was when Outlook was offline. Simply having the connection
unavailable was not enough, so my question about your connection type was
unnecessary. You can tell if Outlook is offline by looking at the Outlook
icon in the notification area of your Taskbar. A white x in a red square will
cover the lower left quadrant of that icon. That same icon shows in the
Status Bar of your main Outlook window when Outlook is offline. Taking
Outlook offline is something that you have to select at File> Work Offline or
at least, I couldn't find a way where it would be done automatically.
The purpose of the Outbox is to hold messages that can't be sent
immediately. Messages that haven't been opened while they are in the Outbox
are sent automatically during the next send/receive. (If you open one, and
still want to send it, click "send" again.) You can find your send/receive
settings at: Tools> Send/Receive> Send Receive Settings> Define Send/Receive
Groups.
I hope this helps.
IanRoy.
