Message Delay

For the past couple weeks, there have been several instances of messages that
are delayed by 2 or more hours from the time they were sent from a contact
until the time I receive them in my inbox. For example today, one person
replied at 10:18 and I got the message in my inbox at 12:52. It's only on
external emails. Help! Can this be fixed??

This does happen on occasion and it's not necessarily anything on your end.
Emails may pass through many servers before reaching their destination. It
could be your server (Exchange or POP3?) or theirs or whatever's inbetween.
Is this a consistant problem? Does this happen only on emails sent to you?

Email is not an instantaneous medium. It is well within standards for
internet mail to take as long as 72 hours between sending and receiving.
Usually, it works quickly, but there's nothing guaranteeing delivery within
a specific time-frame.
