Hi everybod
I have unused disk space that currently is not assigned to any partition and I would like to add it to my c partition since it is prtitioned only 5 gb and xp is taking 2 gb of it and i am running out of space. I don't have partition magic and not planning on buying one, is there a way could do it through win xp, I don't mind formating and reinstalling win xp again. I just did it last night but i could not merge this 5 gb to the rest of hard drive space
it gives me only these option
1- delete a prtition
I selected C cause the rest is not even partitioned, it was telling me that since it is the primary i could lose dirvers but i still said yes and fomated it fomated but did not delete the partition( did not give me my hard drive as a whole
Can you help ???
thanks for your time guy

You cannot merge using XP. Partition Magic is by far the best method to
achieve this. However, you can do it if you reinstall windows - which means
reformatting the drive. You have already reinstall xp so i don't need to go
through the procedure with you. What you need to do during install is Delete
the Partition containing XP, i.e. your 5GB partition. Once this is deleted
you then need to Create a new partition. When creating the new partition you
should get a screen appear that allows you to type in the size of the
partition. By default this is the size of the whole drive. If it isn't then
type in the size of the full drive. After creating the new partition you
will be asked to format it. After formatting xp will continue to install.
You don't say how large your hard drive is but, in my case on an 80GB drive,
i partition 20GB for windows xp. Some people allow 5GB for xp and then
create another partition for installing applications. I have tried this and,
as i have found no performance improvements, eventually decided to revert
back to a single 20GB partition. Along with this i also have a 2GB partition
for storing personal files (at least if you have to reinstall windows you
don't loose files you have placed on the 'backup' partition.
