Assuming that Column A contains the first name, and Column B the last
name, try...

C1, copied down:

=A1&" "&B1

Hope this helps!

Hi all.
I use Excel XP
I have 2 columns "First Name" and "Last Name".
How can I merge these two cols into a single one:
"Full name" ?
It has to be :
Full name = "First name" + <1 space> + "Last name".

Please advise.

TIA
Guy

Select the range with the formula (whole column????).
Edit|copy
edit|paste special|Values

:(
1. It worked.
2. Now I want to delete these original two cols.
3. When I do so - it deletes the new col (full name)
4. I tried to copy the column to another file - no luck

Please advise - how to copy the content without the formula.

Guy

After you have copied the formula, you then need to copy the whole new
column and [edit] [paste special] [values] onto itself. This gets rid of the
formula and leaves it as text, so that the data is no longer dependent on
the first two columns.
