Merge problem

If I e-mail a Word document and receive it back with
comments I get this message. Do you want to merge the
changes in "file.doc" back into c:\documents\file.doc.
Can this feature be turned off and how?

this needs to be turned off in Outlook:
Tools/Options/Email/email options/advanced options

"Add properties to attachments to enable Reply with
changes"
