Merge objects from file

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to merge objects from a slide in
specified ppt/pot file, into the active presentation?
Preferably without overwriting the clipboard, that is ...

I know how to do the whole InsertFromFile thing, so I could do that, and
then copy/paste the content that way. But that is somewhat ugly
(programmatically) as well quite visible to the user.

Suggestions, anyone?

Via copy and paste, yes, and you may be able to open the "source" presentation
w/o a window so as to hide what's going on from the user.

You may be able to add code to preserve the clipboard contents, clear it, then
restore it after you're done. That's a good bit trickier, but I've seen
references to code to do this on the net.
