Andrey

Hi,
After Excel 2000 starts, menu items

Format-->Sheet-->Hide (Unhide)

are ALWAYS disabled, i.e. I can not hide or unhide any sheet using menu.
I try to disable macro and any add-ins, but it does not solve a problem.
Could anybody help me?

Thank you in advance.

One file or all files?

If one file, perhaps you have Workbook Protection enabled?

Gord,
thank you for answer!

All files. I've check protection - it's disabled. This happened on a single
PC only. All others are OK.

Regards
Andrey

Unhide sheets would be grayed out if you have no sheets to unhide.

I assume you know you have hidden sheets.

Would also be grayed out if sheets were veryhidden through code.

Are you sure you have no hidden workbook like Personal.xls opening with
Auto_open code that makes the active workbook sheets veryhidden?

Start Excel in safe mode to ensure nothing is running.

Enter this at Start>Run(your path may differ) to start in Safe Mode

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\excel.exe" /s

Your path may differ.

Gord,
thank you very much. I run Excel in safe mode and found that unhide option
available again!
After that I delete Excel.xlb file in "C:\Documents and Settings\ ...\Excel"
folder and re-run Excel in normal mode - all OK. This file was created by
add-in "ESSBASE".

Best regards
Andrey

Ah yes. The infamous *.xlb file.

I should have thought of re-naming or deleting that just for the heckuvit.

Glad to hear you're sorted.
