memory upgrade reports incoeect memory

Hi
Just upgraded my MSI 865pe FISR MB form 512mb to 1024Mb by replacing 2*256MB
sticks in slots 1 and 3 with 2 * 512MB.
Command prompt reports correctly 1G of memory but Windows SP2, nortons and
MSI infoview still reports 512MB
Anyone any ideas.

You don't make it easy, do you.. your motherboard model is MS- 6728.. the
number you quoted was the chipset reference.. the 'Crucial' site link for
your mobo is below..

Ensure that you have the correct memory installed.. and in the correct
slots.

When you say Windows does, what specific tool? The System information
tool often gets it wrong. Check Control Panel - System - bottom of
general page
