Hi, does a memory stick transfer and backup all files from my computer?
(excuse my ignorance but I've only just heard of these)! I'm trying to
find
a way of backing up everything on my computer as I have too many files to
backup onto floppy disc.
The largest memory sticks I've seen are 1gigabyte for ($59). YOu could use
several for your whole system. But remember, backing up everything is a
waste of time. You don't need to back up your OS, you already have the
original install cd. You don't need to back up your programs. You already
have the original install sets on cd. All you need to back up is the data
they generate. If your OS is broken, a full backup is useless. You can't
restore it. When you install a new harddrive and os and all your programs,
take a snapshot of your system. Then backup only the new files from day to
day. Will save you much time and effort. If your os does crap out, wipe
your drive, reinstall the os and programs, the import your most current
backup data. If you don't know the difference between operating system,
programs and data, hire someone to do your backups.
