Does anyone know of a hotfix that MS has introduced since the release of XP
(which I have installed all available) that has reduced or eliminated the
memory sensitivity problem with XP. I have reinstalled a proven troublesome
single memory module after the one replace it burned out. I have absolutely
no problem with the bad module now , but when it was first installed it
threw bsods repeatedly and produced intermittent problem that were
completely halted by the replacement module. Outside of stating that the
module was never faulty , is there a explanation ? Jym

Hi Jym,

Perhaps the module was not seated correctly the first time. That would
introduce all sorts of BSOD's. Also, perhaps it was conflicting with
(incompatible with) another installed stick at the time. There has been no
change to XP's sensitivity to faulty hardware that I am aware of, it's
inherent in NT systems.
