memory problems

so i bought my satelline m45 about 4 months ago and have had nothing but
problems....
my latest problems are that my computer won't turn off by clicking 'turn off
computer', i have to manually turn it off by pressing the power button. then,
after turning it back on again, it takes anywhere from 10-20 min to load...
then it is very slow and constantly freezes. it won't remember my screen
background and always has alerts coming up saying that it couldn't save
certain files that i didn't try to save and that i should try to save it
elsewhere....
also, whenever i have my norton antivirus installed, the computer
crashes...if anyone has any ideas how to get my computer back to normal
please let me know! ps. i've already used the recovery cd about 5 times so if
there's any other way please let me know
 
Pardon, but do you mean 'Sateline M45'? And what is it? A peripheral, a
Desktop PC, a Laptop? Details, please.
 
sorry....it's a toshiba satellite m45...it's a laptop with windows xp.
if you need to know any other details just let me know

1. Use the Recovery CD one more time and see if problems persist with
nothing else installed. Leave it as the machine came from the factory.

2. If you have problems with the machine while it is in this factory
condition, there are hardware issues and you should immediately contact
Toshiba tech support and/or return the machine to the store where you
bought it for replacement.
