Why am I getting "Unexpected error: Not enough memory available to complete
the operation" when I want to insert an image on a page? Also, I have to
wait for a minute or two before I am able to select the image file I want
and then to hit the Insert button.

I have 384 MB of RAM, FP 2002, Win XP.

Thanks in advance!

David

1. How many programs are loaded and running on boot up.
2. How long since you cleared the browser cache and history
files, and the FrontPage temp files.??
3. I would almost bet, you're running Norton AV.

1. I have ten programs starting in msconfig.
2. Last week I cleared the cache and history. Since I am not using FP on a
server, there are no temp files to clear. I'm creating web pages using FP,
saving them on my hard drive, and then using WS_FTP to upload them.
3. You win the bet. I'm using Norton Internet Security which also has
Norton AV. Do you think this program is the memory hog?

I forgot to mention that I have hundreds of image files in my image file
which is contained in a larger file. All of these files I need for the
website I'm in charge of.

Any solutions? Do I need more memory than 384MB? (I have an 80 GB hard
drive with only one volume; it's not partitioned so there's only one drive
designated.

Thanks!

David

FP Temp files are created whether you use the FP SE or not

See your default windows TEMP folder and clean it out - usually in
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp or C:\Windows\Temp

Also find and delete any FP web cache files (*.web) - usually in
"C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache"

Finally the FP command bar can get corrupted and cause memory problems
Find and delete CMDUI.PRF ( you will lose any menu bar customizations)
