I have 2GB of Memory. Is there a way to set XP Home to use the 2GB of
Memory first before using the page file on the hard disk? Will this improve
performance?

Also, is there any way to better the performance of the A Drive? I tried to
upload some pictures one day and it took almost five minutes.

Thank you;
David

After reading this you'll understand virtual memory better:

The A drive is a diskette drive. Who still uses diskettes? Besides, the
diskette drive is by far the slowest of all your drives.

Windows will always use RAM in preference to the page file with
respect to active memory content. With 2 gb of RAM most of the "PF
Usage" you see reported by Windows Task Manager and other reporting
tools will be phantom usage, where Windows is using the address
locations in the pagefile to satisfty the memory requirements of the
unused portions of memory allocation requests. This does not involve
any actual hard drive activity.

Good luck
