memory leak

help! i think i have a memory leak. everytime i download
something (averages 550MB) and delete it, the memory used
by it never comes back! the same happens when i install a
program and uninstall it. i have 104 GB but within two
days, i have 96.2 GB!

Just FYI, you're talking not about memory (_i.e._) RAM, but "storage."

It stays on the drive till it is overwritten by other files.
