Last night while I was playing a game on my system (WinXP Pro, SP1) my system
suddenly froze (which has happened before on rare occasions) and not even
ctrl-alt-del helped. I had to manually shut the PC off and then when I turned
it back on, everything was back to normal like it's always been before... or
so I thought.
Everytime before that my PC had a freeze, after I did a restart, a .dmp file
would be generated and I would just delete it and have no problems at all.
Last nights freeze seemed just like all the others that have happened before
but this time when I attempted to delete the Memory.dmp file, I got an error
dialogue which stated:
Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete Memory: Access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not
curretly in use.
Well, I'm PRETTY SURE that the @#$%! file is not in use and I can't delete
the darn thing!! I tried several times and I keep getting this error message.
It's 241mb of (as far as I know) useless crap!
Does anyone out there know how I can get rid of this thing. It's not
affecting my system in any way and as I stated above, I rarely get lock ups
but I still want to delete this thing.
Thanks!
