Can somebody tell me if there`s a Memory delimitation for saving a File on
the Desktop (by Example a pdf-File)? And if so, how big could it be?

thanx

I know of no size limitation of a file saved on the desktop. Why do you
ask?

I ask becouse a User saved a 30 MB pdf File on desktop, after he opened and
edit it he couldn`t save the file - the Laptop just died. After we safted it
under C:\... he could edit it without any problems...

Wow that is a new one on me. I never heard of such a limitation. It
should have worked fine.

has to be something else going on there. I just built and saved a 75 MB
pdf on the desktop then opened edited it and resaved it with no issues.

No, there is no maximum file size limit for files on just the desktop.
Desktop, by the way, is nothing more than a folder that is displayed AS a
desktop. You can look for it under your username in documents and settings
and see all the same things in it.

It sounds more like the laptop died from a glitch someplace and it was a
coincidence that just happened at the same time she was working. The
unexpected "death" is probably what created the problem.
IF it doesn't happen again don't worry about it. Just consider it "one
of those things".
