Memory cannot be read errors : how procedd ?

I regularly get errors stating that instruction at 0x............. uses
memory adress 0x............... Memory cannot be read.
Adresses change.
Programs are diverse.

How investigate cause : hardware related or WinXp / other software ?

Win XP SP1a - 1GB memory - no overclocking at all.
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe MoBo

Hi, Phil.

Well, it could be defective memory, of course. Or it could be that your
DIMMs are not installed in the right slots, or not installed firmly enough.

However, it also could be caused by any of a number of other hardware
problems: Heat buildup; dust; faulty cables; failing power supply...

Step 1 would be to open up the case and check everything you can see or
feel. If that doesn't work, post back.

DIMMS firmly inserted in correct slots ( 1 & 3 - paired slots)
Cables same.
Heat : measures on CPU & HD & MoBo are OK. 9 Fans in the case.
Power supply is 480 W
Dust : have already cleaned with pressurized air.
