I recently suffered major crash and had to re-install xp
home. Windows media player installed but no sound.
Multimedia audio controller -" Drivers for this device
not installed"
Can anyone advise how to get this prob solved??

Due to crash and reformat, have no idea what sound card I
am using.
any suggestions
Paul

Open up your machine - get Sound Board or Sound Module Mfr
and Chipset # - go to Mfr's site and Download Driver -
unless you have a Driver disk which came with your sound
card or Motherboard

Contacted manufacturer of motherboard on advice from
manufacturer of computer.Given dtls of compatable
drivers ,downloaded and installed ok.
Now getting msg to effect that sound device not
installed. how do I go about getting sound card
recognised?
