i recently upgraded my windows media player to v.9

the problem is once i set the media player to be the
default player of MP3s and MIDIs... if i ever try to
download them, it opens directly in media player... and no
longer prompts first to open or save.
i went to the folder option and the section of the file
types and the box to "prompt" is checked... and if it
wasnt i checked it but it still will not prompt me and
goes right ahead and opens...

what is the problem? why will it not prompt me if i set my
media player as default player?
