When I updated my media player not to long ago, I started having problems.
The main problem I am having is that when you open the Media Player 9, it
prompts me to install the media player. When I install it, It just wants me
to install it again. I have to reboot to get it working again. Any ideas on
what to do?
This could be a difficult one, but you can try this first. When you can, go
into Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and then select Add/Remove Windows
Components. If you see Windows Media Player there then deselect the checkbox
for it and then click Next and so on, so that it will be uninstalled. If it
still tries to install on the next boot, try to cancel the installation.
Then and in any case, for XP, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...21-6c38-4152-9b19-fa40b45a1042&displaylang=en
and install the latest version of Media Player for XP and then reboot. Be
sure to do all available Microsoft updates after that, Media Player can be
compromised until the updates are done.
I hope this does it for you; let this forum know if it did or did not.
