If your running, win, xp pro, sp2, media player V10 and experiancing
difficulties with media player freezes which cause a restart, like me, then
perform a systems roll back to V9.
To do this:
control panel, add remove, tick "show updates" scroll down the list untill
you find Windows Media Player "under Software updates" and remove it. You may
need to download v9,It worked for me.
Good luck

Yes, all very well, but you didn't fix the WMP10 problem, huh ? Did you try
re-installing it ?

Cheers,
jerry

As noted in thread you linked to, that is not the correct way to uninstall
WMP 10. Doing so is "extremely ill-advised".

I ran that file trying to get rid of wmp10, i ended up
reinstalling xp becuase it screwed it up so much.
