Do a Search for "Startup" (no " "). Open each folder found and delete the
shortcut to MP if found. It may possibly be hiding in another account
which comes up at startup.

Have you tried doing this:
Go to START, RUN, type in MSCONFIG
Click on the STARTUP tab
Deselect the programs you don't need to start up.
Good Luck

Abel,

I followed thru with your advice and this seems to have
fixed the problem. Thanks a lot for your help.

Best regards, Tom.

Abel, I have a problem with deselecting and I was wondering if you
could fill me in. No one else has.

I have deselected stuff in msconfig\start up. The computer tells me I
have to reboot for it to take effect. So I reboot. They are removed
when I boot now, but the computer then says something to the effect
that "you are in a test mode only & the next reboot will put
everything back the way it was. Which is exactly what happens. So I
need to figure out how to make a few of the de-selected programs or
files permanent - any ideas?
