media disconnected

have connected 2 pc's via rj45 crossover cable, icons in
notification area say network is 100mbps and 10mbps.
Master pc is 10.10.30.1, second pc is 10.10.30.2. both on
same workgroup.
When using ipconfig, the second pc says media
disconnected, this implies a cable is unplugged, but icons
and network place icons say everything is connected and ok.

please, pleas help

Not good. Speed must be the same (Guess why?).
Set same speed in nertcard properties/Advanced.
First, try 100; if won't work, try 10.
