David

I am attempting to upgrade my HP Media Center to XP Pro.
When I enter the Product code, it says that it is
invalid. I've spent 15 hours over the last week,
speaking with very nice but ultimately unhelpfull
Microsoft employee's in Canada and India. How do I get
the system to recognize a valid key? I was give sever
new keys over the phone and none worked. Any help that I
could get would be very much appreciated.

Blessings,

DB

David;
If they can not help, you are very limited in your options.

What is the source of the XP Pro CD?
There are many different types of Windows XP Pro CDs as there are many
different types of Product Keys and they are not interchangeable.

Try another keyboard.

Since Windows XP Media Center Edition is actually a "superset" of
the Windows XP Professional operating system, there is no sense
attempting to upgrade. You already have it!

Greetings --

What you're trying to do is actually a "downgrade," and won't
work.

WinXP Media Center Edition is a _superset_ (iow, it does
_everything_ WinXP Pro can do, plus contains additional features) of
WinXP Pro.

I realize that I am removing all the features of Media
Center. I no longer am interested in all the things that
are bundled with media center. Also, there are portions
that my daughter deleted that is affecting performance
and I'm unable to locate the OEM disk that shipped with
the PC. Thanks all who responded.
