I've been itching to play Mechwarrior 2 lately, so i loaded the Win95/98
version up on my MP. it installed fine, but when i went to play it, nothing
happened. The intro movie plaied, but when the game was supposed to start it
just went away.
I tried surching google for a fix, but either my searching skills are
lacking, or theres no one else tring to play MW2.
Anyone here know a fix, or at least why this is happening?

I have WinXP, a GeForce FX 5600, current version of DX9, current Vid
drivers, currrent sound drivers, the VIA 4-in-1's installed. pretty much
anything i could think of to see if the game would play.
 
As I recall, it states flat out on Activision's site that MW2 does not and
will not work in XP.
 
Bah! that bites! MW2 is by far better then MW3 and is leaps and bounds
better then the toon-ified MW4...

Well.. thanks for your reply.. I coudn't find any info on there website..
tho they were in the middle of redoing it at the time... Oh wells..
 
Hey, I did get MW2 to run in XP, once. This was a loooong time ago. Head
over to ntcompatible.com to see if your had posted a "work-around".

If I recall Mechwarrior 2 will only play in 256 colour.
Use the compatibility mode and choose win 95 and 256
colour.
