mechanism for form activation

If I add a form the form should come from the standard library. Correct?

I accessed it by going from the calendar view selected Tools | Forms |
Design a Form which opens the Design Form dialog box with the Standard Forms
Library highlighted. In the large window Appointment is displayed. I can
open the form and it appears "normal" I can use it and save the results to
the calendar. I can also select Tools | Forms | Choose a form and select the
appointment form and it works. To me this means the form is healthy, sorry
for that nursing term.

What doesn't work is opening the appointment form using any other method.
The form activation process seems to be terminally ill. I have done a Detect
and Repair without resolution of the problem. Only the Appointment form or
the calendar is broken/sick.

I know some of you have seen this question before. Please excuse me. I am
hoping someone else will see it that didn't see it before and has resolved
this issue.

What symptoms do you get that indicate the form is unhealthy?

When I double click a time on the calendar, Press Ctrl+N in the calendar,
or select appointment from the New button I get the following message:

"The form required to view this message cannot be displayed. Contact your
administrator."

Yes it said message. I am the administrator, such as it is.

Thanks for your question and help.

Fay

The first thing to try is clearing the forms cache. If that doesn't work, tell us what your Outlook version and mail environment is.

I am using O2K3 with SBS2k3. I don't know what I did, but it seems to be
working after a week or two. Sue how do I clear the forms cache. I don't see

Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Custom Forms | Manage Forms | Clear Cache. You can also try deleting everything in the Forms folder that holds Frmcache.dat.

You should avoide accessing any public folders through the Favorities hierarchy if they contain custom forms. This is a known Outlook 2003 problem; see http://www.slipstick.com/dev/ol2003problems.htm
