I am not happy with Windows XP and would like to convert
my PC to Windows ME. How can I do this and are there
problems with doing this?

Hi

What problems have you got makes you want to go downgrade to ME? If you
'upgraded' to XP and chose to save the uninstall files, then there should be
entry in Add/Remove Programs. Otherwise you will have reformat your hard
disk/partition and then re-install ME.

My new system came with XP, but my laptop and PC at work
all have ME, which works much faster. Also all my programs
work with ME and not with XP.

Hi

If you want to use ME on the new system, the hard disk will have to be
reformatted first then ME re-installed.

Trudy;
Your new system may have components not compatible with older
operating systems.
Generally windows XP is superior to Windows ME.
If you are having issues with a new computer perhaps you should
contact the manufacturer for warranty tech support.

Most older applications work in Compatibility Mode:
Right click the icon
Click Properties
Click Compatibility tab
Go from there.

What speed processor?
How much memory? > 512 mb I hope.

See if this helps:

Can't imagine why anyone would have problems with XP(?) Seriously.. I have
re-installed mine many times because of stupid things i have done, but the
OS itself, for my money, is the best, (besides Win 2000) to ever come out
of Redmond. Windows Me was easily, an 'afterthought' while we waited for XP
to be released and I am glad I never bought it; I waited and have never been
sorry I bought XP Pro..The Tech Pros will help you on this forum; don't be
discouraged.

The Best Ram Chip I Know of is the 1Gb chip. Now that will speed up th
system like if it was Win Me. But before you get a chip you need th
model number and Family type of the computer so you get the right one
Mine Is an IBM Netvista A Series. Model 8311 15u and my Ram chip is
2100. All Computers come with different types of chips so you go t
look under the computer to find the model number and then look up th
type of chip you got over the internet. My Chip costs about $375 buck
all others im not sure about. So good luck on your computer
