Help Please.
I am an Access Developer and have seen the following issue
twice with no remedy.
My mdb file wont open, I get the following error message
when opening the file:

"The Microsoft Jet Database Engine could not find the
object MSysDb. Make sure the object exists and that
you've spelled its name and path name correctly".

Im cant even import or link into this mdb to retrieve the
one form that I need. I've searching the knowledge base
with no success.
HELP please.

Bad news. This is a sign of a corruption.

If it's just a form, why not just use your backup. Simple solution.

If it's data that you can't get to and you've done enough data changes since
your last backup, then:

Before doing *ANYTHING* make a backup of the mdb file to work with.

Next take a look at http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm. Tony
has some good information there.

If it's something that's really important and none of Tony's suggestions
fixes your database, you might have to turn to a recovery service. Tony has
some listed at the end of the above page.

All of my clients that have data that is that important to their business
make backups nightly. Then they save every Friday night's backup in a
fireproof safe. On the last day of every month they make a backup and take
it to an off-site safe like a bank safe deposit vault.

Personally, when I'm working on a new database, I usually make a backup
every hour or two all day long. One good backup could save you several
hundreds of dollars.

Good luck.
