MDB-file lost data

Dear friends,
I'm working every day with a mdb-file. When my work is
complete, the file has for instance 8 MB. After several
minutes the file looses all data and has at least 1 KB. I
need urgently your help, because it's impossible to do the
same work for many times because of loosing the data.
Is there any chance for me?

Andrea, there is no way a valid mdb file becomes 1kb in size.

There is likely to be an ldb file in the same folder as the mdb file. Can
you unhide the file extensions to check that you are looking at the correct
file type?

Allan's suggestion of there being a .ldb file is inspired and quite
possibly the cause of the problem. But another suggestion: are you (or
somebody) by any chance opening the .mdb file in another application,
such as Word or Notepad? Doing so will destroy the database in exactly
this way. Check your Windows file type associations to make sure that
..mdb files are being opened with Access, not some other program!
