MCC cannot open the *.mmc files

MCC.exe cannot open the *.mmc files. That means i cannot
manage SQL, Users administration, computer management,
etc.. It happens recently, but it has been working since
any problem till now.

You told us what does not happen.
To diagnose we need to know what does (incorrectly) happen.
Any pop-ups ? Any event log messages ? A window the
flickers up and then closes ? What ?

When i try to execute any snap-in, i get the following
message from the MICROSOFT MANAGEMENT CONSOLE:

"MMC cannot open the file C:\Program Files\SQL Server\80
\Tools\BINN\SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC

This maybe because the file does not exists, is not an
MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC.
This may also be because you do not have sufficient
access rights to the file"

This is the message when I try SQL Ent. Mngr., but get
the same message with other snap-ins.
I´ve checked that the files exists and are an mmc
console, and i have access rights. The version of my mmc
console is:

Microsoft Management Console 2.0
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1)

I just had this issue, finally nailed it with some help from google
groups.

The root cause is something (SP1 perhaps? not sure) overwritting
something in MSXML3. So download and reinstall the latest version of
MSXML3 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...162-8FB8-66BFC12F32B0&displaylang=en#filelist
