Thanks. I thought being listed on the state register made me listed
automatically. I ran a check and it said I was not registered. Filled it
out (quite simple, even for me), got a conformation in less than one minute.

Only if your state submits their registry.

I hear ya, Sinner, but it's a start. Be mindful this is only for the US.
Friend of mine has an immediate retort to those 'spammers' who call. If he
recognizes it as a telemarketer, he immediately says, 'WE SIGNED UP FOR THE
DO NOT CALL LIST, DON'T YOU KNOW THE LAW' and slams the phone down. Been
doing this for about a year and his calls have diminished somewhat.

I think he was talking about the offtopic post, not the sig. I think he
