MaxTor HDD Issue

Have just installed a MaxTor HDD drive to my PC (Running Win XP SP1)

Everything appears fine and is listed as functioning in Device Manager.

Are not able to access the drive, via My Computer or Explorer, wondering if
I have missed anything when setting it up?

Right click My Computer.
Select Manage then Disk Management.

You can format it there and assign a drive letter.

You have missed creating a partition and formatting it.
