Maxtor HD Trouble

I have a Maxtor 5000LE external hard drive installed to
augment my storage. The drive is listed on the device
manager, the device is listed as functioning properly.
The latest driver is installed. But there is no path or
access point to the 5000LE and it does not show up on the
My Computer window as another drive. I am running
Windows XP Professional. Help!
 
Go to Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.
It should be listed there. You can then set it active.

You might need to partition and format it using MaxBlast 3 For Windows
from http://www.maxtor.com/en/support/downloads/files/maxblast3win.exe
