Is there a maximum number of archive (pst) files that you can have open in
the folder list?

Hello Jesslyn,

Thanks for your posting here.

I am sorry for the delay due to the server issue.

As for your question that the maximize number of PST files can be opened in
Outlook, I am afraid we are unable to tell the accurate number for there is
no article talking about it.

Have you encountered problems when you try to open a PST file? If so,
please provide me the detailed behavior and the exactor steps. If there is
any popup message, please capture a screen shot and attach it in the
newsgroup. Please also tell me the version of Outlook you are using. With
these items, we can reproduce the problem on my side and work with you.

I am standing by for your update. Have a good day!

Thanks & Regards

Yes, it seems that when we try to connect to more than 13 pst files, the
14th is not displayed.

Hi Jesslyn,

Thanks for your posting back.

I have performed the similar test on my side, and I have added 20 PST files
without any problems.

Therefore, I suggest you perform the following steps to narrow down the
issue ( I assume you are using Outlook 2003.):

1. Test the 14th PST file on another client to make sure if the PST is
correct.

2. New Outlook profile
=============
Please create a new profile to isolate the issue.
For the steps on how to create a new profile, refer to the following
Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article:

829918 How to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918

3. Outlook Safe Mode
=================
a. Click Start, and then point to Programs.
b. Press CTRL while you click the shortcut for Outlook that you want to
start.
c. Hold down CTRL until you receive a message similar to the following:
"Outlook has detected that you are holding down the CTRL key. Do you want
to start Outlook in safe mode?" Click Yes.
d. Try to add more PST file in Safe Mode.

4. Windows Safe Mode
=====================
Test the issue in Windows Safe Mode with Networking.

Please inform me of the results. I am standing by for your update.

Thanks & Regards
