I'm trying to determine the absolute maximum number of
records allowed by Access 2000. does anyone have this
information at hand.

and is it possible to open (in access) a foxpro (v2.5) dbf
file?

There is no explicit limit on the number of records. A single database
is limited to 2 GByte. In practice, tens of millions of records can be
handled with careful design of your queries and other objects.

Yes - use File... Get External Data... Import (or Link), and select
..dbf from "Files Of Type". There are an assortment of different
flavors of .dbf but you get your choice, and I'm pretty sure that
FoxPro 2.5 is among them.
