maximum number of fields in a form

Hy,
i've got the following problem:
i have a verry large d-base in access 97 and have to add some fields...
then i get the error "maximum number of fields achieved", i cant remove anny
other fields..they MUST be in the form.
i already tried to change option boxes into dropdowns, but i steel have to
add more fields!

anny sugestions?
 
It sounds like you have lots of fields in your table(s).

You should seldom have more than 10 or 20 fields in each table. If you
have lots more than that, your tables are probably not designed
properly. Do a google search on the topic of "database noirmalization".

If you check in the Help file (under "specifications, Microsoft Access",
then under "Read about form and report specifications"), you'll see that
there's a limit of 754 controls you can add to a form over its lifetime.
That's everything: labels, text boxes, etc., etc. If you've been making a
number of changing to your form, you might have exceeded that limit. Your
only option is to create a new form (I believe you can copy the existing
form, and that will reset its count)

I have to agree with TC, though: that's an awful lot of fields for a single
form!
