Maximum database size

In Access 2000 and later, the maximum database size is increased to 2GB.
However, Access 2000 and later use Unicode, which uses two bytes rather than
one to store a text character. This doesn't necessarily mean that there will
be no increase in capacity, as Unicode applies only to text fields, and
there is a Unicode compression feature.

I've never actually seen an MDB that was approaching 1GB in size. I'm
curious - how long does it take to compact it?
