Matt

The reason this is urgent is that the problem is with my
mum's computer, not mine, and i need to fix it before she
realises there's something wrong. The problem is this:

When I try to maximise the internet explorer browser
window, it only takes up half it stretches out
horizontally so that I can't see the whole screen, and
vertically it only appears halfway down the screen. I
think I might have done something to the resolution of
the screen, but I can't figure out how to change the
resolution so that it matches that of the laptop.
If I maximise other applications this problem does not
occur,it is specific to the internet explorer browser.

Help soon, Matt

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the Windows taskbar and while the window
is maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is
to try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.
