CD Writing Software - Easy CD Creator 5

Hi all,

Hope someone can assist me with a problem I am experiencing with my
DVD/CD Writer.

Until recently, I have been able to read/write CDs and read DVDs
without any problems. However, now when I put a CD in the drive, the
CD drive will no longer display file/folder information.

So far, here is what I have done, checked and can confirm :

The drive is being recognised at start up in the BIOS.
I have removed Easy CD Creator.
After searching newsgroups, I ran the CDGONE reg fix to remove some
registry keys left by CD writing software.
Removed and reinstalled the CD Writer through the device manager.
Checked the properties of the CD drive and IDE controllers - no
conflicts between any of the devices to report.

At present, when a CD is put in the drive, you will see/hear the drive
"reading" the disk, but no information being displayed.

I am considering a format of the machine and starting a reinstall from
scratch, but this is a last resort. Can someone please suggest any
other resolutions.

Thanks

GW

In my computer right click the drive in question and turn on cd writing
in properties. IN-CD may have turned it off as it interferes with it
