Master doc with Sub docs in word 2000

I've found help for creating a master doc in word 2003; is
it an option in Word 2000? If so, does it work basically
the same as the 2003 feature? Thanks!

It is and it is equally detrimental to your documents. This function is
notoriously buggy. See
