I have had some trouble with a local .PST file for a user who now after I've
got them back a copy they want to set a large group of entries with the same
follow up date and time. Is it possible to do this in some utility way... I
could of course go through each mail itme and set a follow up individually. I
tried highlighting a group of messages and then setting a follow up but the
option is greyed out.... All itmes to be updated are in one category so
luckilly they can be group identified..... ad are flagged for follow up but
have no date or time set

Not sure if this works for colors, but you can group the view by Due Date or
by the flag. Set the follow up for one item to get it shown in the group,
then drag all of the other items with the mouse to the same group.

Not sure I understand your response but all the items I'm talking about are
already in a single folder and I've grouped them together by due date. I
tried marking them as a group ( IE highlight them all and try to add a
reminder but the reminder is greyed out) and can still only mark them
individually ... Essentially I have about 50 emails I want to pop up in the
reminder window when the user logs on. they all are flagged as due today (
the setting of flag for today on the whole group works unlike the group
setting of a reminder). THis makes me think there is some underlying system
issue... These messages appeared ( yes all 50 of them) in the users remind
window before the file loss... Very perplexing... FYI I've tried the command
line switch that supposedly rebuilds the reminder -- (outlook.exe
/Cleanreminders) but that does not seem to make a difference.....

Right click the column header of the folder view, check "Group By Box". Use
the field choose and ensure the the field "Follow Up Flag" is shown. Now
drag that field above the column header. This action groups the view by the
follow up flag.

Now you can assign the desired flag to one item; that will ensure the group
is visible. Now simply drag other items to the same group.

This is a pretty cool feature to set properties on multiple items at once,
and it can be used for almost every property.
