Hello!

I have a problem on a Windows XP computer. I can't map a network
folder on my server either using the name or the IP ( \\servername
\user or \\192.168.1.2\users) when I try to ping the serve using name
or IP it works great. I tried to do the same thing from the server to
the computer with the same result. On the computer I'm running Panda
Antivirus but I have disabled it and still the same result. Anyone
know what to do?

It's likely the Windows Firewall. Try disabling that.

As Cliff said, it may be the windows firewall, try to disable that by going
to Start>Control Panel
Click Security Center
Click Windows Firewall
Select Off (not recommended) and hit ok.

Do this to both systems. and try again.

If that does not work, make sure the network has access to those folders via
file sharing.

Ty for the help i solved the problem. It looks like Windows Update was
****ing up the network in some kind of way so just run the patch for
svchost and then it all worked.
