I just installed Window XP Professional on my home computer - now I am not
able to use the CD drive. I can hear the that CD is is working but I think
the drive is not mapped. I tried to map drive that displayed the dialog box
with list of drives but the folder section is blank. What should I tyupe in
that section to map the drive?

The drive has to work before you can map it. "Mapping" requires file
sharing to be installed and besides, it won't solve your defective drive.
Fix the drive.

Did you by chance have any drivers for that brand of CD drive? Most of
them will work with generic driver, but many don't

You might want to go into disk manager (right click My computer / Manage
/ Disk Manager) and make sure it has a drive label...
