My computer gets stuck on the HP logo when Window starts and just stays there. For some reason my computer finally moved from that point and wont let me access many of my programs. I cant open Sustem Restore ofr the Help & Support or any system -checking programs like System Tools or Properties. I get "A DEVICE ATTACHED TOTHE SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING'. Rundll32.exe also appears in the error box.. If i restart the computer, i don't know if will be able to log on to Windows again. Help! My computer will stay on.

Hi Dee,

Do you have the XP CD?

Try going to Start > Run and typing sfc /scannow (note the space
between the c and the forward slash)
This will check the system files and replace the damaged or missing
ones. It will ask for the XP CD.
If you don't have it, look for the i386 folder, it might be in a
folder on another partition in your computer. Direct the program
there.

Good luck

Unattached all the devices attached with the computer except mouse, keybord and monitor.Do set default and check you are getting the same error or not and if not it means that one of your hardware is occuring this error. You can reswap the ram also
Or
Create a new user account it can be the error of particular user account.
