I have a program that I need to take a .exe file and add
it as a service to the service list in Windows 2000
Professional so that it will automatically start
everytime. How can I add this file as a service in Windows
2000 professional?

Hi

You can use a utility like Service+ from Nicoware
(http://nicoware.net/software/products/serviceplus).

It has a good user interface compared to products like Srvany from
Microsoft. You can even define special environment variables etc. for
your program.

We are using the product on several servers and workstations.

Ole

$800USD for a simple utility that automates a few registry edits?
What a scam.

If anyone out there is even considering patronizing these thieves,
please do a little more research.

I purchased Service+ quoted above because a friend told me this is
good product. Unfortunately, there are 2 Service+, one from Nicowar
and one from Active+ Software...And I bought the wrong one, Service
from Nicoware. I really tell everybody not to buy this product becaus
I had continuous problems with it and I have never been refunded.

Finally, I bought the one from Active+ Software and I am very satisfie
with it. And I can rely on the experience of a professional company. M
conclusion is: have a look at http://www.activeplus.com
