Manual archiving...?

Howdy,

I find the fact that Outlook uses the "modified" date as the
criterion for archiving a significant inconvenience.

Is there any reason that I could not simply archive messages
"manually?"

By that I mean:

Is there something that the Outlook archiving process does
for me that I cannot achieve by just setting up a bunch of
folders, and moving old messages into them based on more
rational criteria such as date (actually) received, or date
(actually) sent?

Sincere thanks,

Outlook archiving doesn't do anything special to the messages except to move
them to your archive folders automatically. I do all of my archiving
manually.

No Kenneth. I don't think so.

Just drag them into the folder you want them in - preferable in Archive or
Personal where the IT dept. will back them up for you.

"we're nuts about Outlook"

Hi Judy,

I thank you for your comment...

Given that I am the IT Department (and, I will add, the
Chef), it should be fine.

All the best,

Howdy,

Sincere thanks, that's the route I will take,
