Hello all,
Could anyone point me to some articles or case studies comparing which
companies technologies are better for creating a "Managed Desktop" or
"Locked Down Desktop" (i.e. restricting what a user is permitted to do
on their Windows operating system); Microsoft technologies or Netware
technologies.

As this is a Microsoft newsgroup, I understand the answers might be
biased toward using Microsoft products; I am just looking for some
concrete facts to take to my managers.

Thank you.

Rick,

I might suggest that you look at the out-of-the-box Group Policies that help
to lockdown a user's workstation. Additionally, there are several security
..inf files ( some Microsoft, some not! ) that can be applied to lock down a
WIN2000/WINXP system even more tightly. There is also folder redirection.

Does this get you going in the right direction?

Cary,
Thank you for the response. I am fairly familiar with that
technologies that would be used to lock down a workstation; so I am
really looking for published articles talking about and/or comparing
using Microsoft versus Netware to accomplish the task. For example,
would a company be limiting themselves by using ZENworks to roll out
the policies instead of Active Directory?

Thank you again for the response.
