In windows 98 it is possible to manage the programs that are
running in the taskbar by gong to start; programs; accessories; system
tools; system information; system configuration utility and then click on
startup. How could that be done with win XP? I have so many items that are
on in the task bar when I startup my computer that it takes me some time
just to close out of all the running programs that I do not need to have
running at the time.
Is there a way to use the system configuration utility or
something so that I could choose which programs to not run at startup like
win 98 allows you to do. I went to the system configuration utility in win
xp. But, it does not provide that option. Can anyone tell me how to do that
in win xp?
I can not see anything when I explore the start up folder by R-clicking on
start and then choosing explore; programs; startup. There is nothing in that
folder.
Yet, I have a lot of things running in the task bar every time
that I turn on the computer. And, that is very frustrating to say the least
waiting for all those things to load when starting up the computer just to
have to take the time to close out of them after they are done loading.
